Fall Town Meeting is on Monday, November 13th, at Medway High School, 88 Summer Street. All are welcome to join the meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. Please note that only registered voters are allowed to vote.
Babysitting will be available for FREE from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm (hard stop even if the meeting runs over) at the Medway High School at 88 Summer Street. It's important to note that there is a 30-person maximum, and each child in a family must be registered separately. Walk-ins will only be considered if available that evening and will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. You will be notified via email if we meet maximum capacity.

The upcoming November Friday Night Done Right event has been changed to Thursday, November 9th, from 6-8 pm in the Medway High School Gymnasium due to the Holiday conflict.
Friday Night Done Right is a FREE youth drop-in program for MEDWAY residents and/or students in grades 5-8. Parents - you get the night off while youth can enjoy pizza, sports, crafts, music, and social time. Some nights may also feature age-appropriate movies, inflatables, visits from a certified therapy dog, etc.
The Girl Scouts of Medway, along with the Medway Turkey Trot, are co-sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Medway Food pantries. Please help people in need by dropping off non-perishable food items in the lobby of the Medway Middle School or Medway High School from 11/1/-11/17.

The Indigenous People's Day Committee presents the walking tour with Medway's Open Spaces & Trails.
Jim Wickis of Medway's Open Spaces will provide a casual (40-minute) walking tour on Saturday, October 28, beginning at 10:00 am. The walking tour will start at the Adams Street Meadow (near the Adams Street parking lot). Mr. Wickis will identify native and non-native plants on Medway's nature trails. In addition, we will visit boxes along the path to learn about Indigenous People's history in Medway. All ages are welcome on this 40-minute, half-mile casual walking tour.

Key to substance use prevention is talking openly with our students and helping them understand the impact of substance abuse on their health. Studies show that the earlier an individual starts smoking, drinking, or using other drugs, the greater the likelihood of developing an addiction. The risk of addiction and substance abuse decreases yearly, and substance use is delayed during adolescent brain development. Reminder on Wednesday, October 18th there will be an Early release day. Pre school will be released at 11:05 with no afternoon classes. Kindergarten and First grade will be released at 12:00.
A flu shot clinic will be held today, Monday, October 16, from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Burke/Memorial School, 16 Cassidy Lane. The flu clinic is free for all (5+). Please bring a copy of your insurance card and wear a short-sleeved shirt. No co-pays!
The Medway Foundation for Education has provided grants to fund innovative programs, events, and educational support to teachers and students in Medway since 2002!
Did you know the MFE funded or helped fund the kiln used to make the ceramic tiles students design, the beautiful new Me on the Map mural at Burke-Memorial, and the fantastic new performance piano at the high school? And that MFE also funded the Lost Boys of Sudan event, Remembering Auschwitz Virtual Tour, and the inaugural year of the Financial Literacy Fair and STEM Saturday for Girls? MFE is a quiet but powerful resource for our schools, students, and teachers. BUT MFE needs help.
Most Board members have been involved for many years; our kids have graduated or are in high school. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help us hold events (Dodgeball, Trivia Bee, and more) and raise funds to keep funding future grants. You can join our Board (which meets quarterly to plan events and review and vote on grant proposals) or help with fundraising and events. Are you a social media guru? We could use that assistance as well. Anyone in the community is welcome, but we’re especially seeking input and assistance from parents of those in K-8.
