Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! The McGovern School is the early childhood center for the Medway Public Schools, and home to our preschool, kindergarten and first grade students and their dedicated teachers. It is a huge responsibility to be the foundation of a young child’s educational experience and it is one that we embrace and take very seriously. We are, after all, the “I Can” school where we foster the belief that all students can achieve, can be a good citizen, can make friends, and can have fun all at the same time.
On behalf of the entire McGovern School, we are looking forward to a most successful learning experience for your child/children. The 2018-2019 school year brings with it an enhanced focus on the development of the whole child. This year, Medway Elementary Schools will begin the adoption of Responsive Classroom. This approach to teaching focuses on building a positive school community focused on engaging academics, effective management and developmental awareness. We look forward to sharing more about this approach with you throughout the school year.
